Maple Kindergarten Visit to the British Museum

Following the children’s growing interest in Ancient Egypt, Maple Kindergarten took another exciting trip—this time to the British Museum to explore its Egyptian collections.

The children were fascinated as they explored the different displays, discovering statues, objects and artefacts from Ancient Egyptian life. They particularly loved seeing the impressive lion statue, which sparked lots of conversation and curiosity as they moved around the galleries.

One of the biggest highlights was visiting the section displaying the mummies. The children were especially intrigued by how people were wrapped in layers of cloth and were keen to look closely at how the mummification process had preserved the bodies.

The visit provided lots of opportunities for the children to ask questions, share their ideas and make connections with what they had already been learning. It was wonderful to see their interests developing beyond the classroom and into real-world experiences, with the children leading the learning through their curiosity, questions and fascination with the past.
